Reflections from our Young Adults (YAL)

On Saturday March 24th the Saint Sophia YAL took a day trip to Holy Protection Monastery in White Haven, PA. The trip was planned during lent to give us a time to escape the city and “reflect” on our faith, relationships and lives. The departure time for the 4 hour drive was 7:00am from Saint Sophia for a day long trip. We ended up with a total of 15 YAL-ers on the trip!!! This speaks

Saint Basil’s Academy Retreat

  We recently went on an overnight trip to Saint Basil’s Academy in Garrison, NY.  This was a combined retreat with both Saint Sophia and Saints Constantine and Helen.  We all shared a bus and traveled with over fifty people to New York and back.  This was once again an amazing experience for both kids and adults.  I thought we’d mix things up a bit and hear about an exciting Youth Retreat from their perspective.

Lenten Discipline (Part I)

Lenten Retreat 2011

This post focuses on the GOYA Lenten Retreat that we attended on April 9 &10. We had other events for the different age groups, but I really felt the need to share this ministry. It was such an amazing experience that the entire post is devoted to this retreat.
