Dear Friends of Saint Sophia,

          Our Saint Sophia Cathedral Narthex capital campaign completion is in sight.

          This great news is due to the extraordinary generosity of a number of our parishioners. I am amazed and grateful at the tremendous reception I have received.

          This support is encouraging, but our ultimate success will be determined by participation. We need 100% of our registered families to make a pledge to this important campaign.

          We can successfully complete the Narthex, but I need every friend of Saint Sophia to help.

          I am asking you to please consider making a 5-year pledge of $5,000.00. I know that this is not an insignificant amount but think of it at a gift of $1,000.00 a year or $83.33 a month.  If you’re able to fulfill the pledge earlier than expected, please contact the Cathedral office at 202-838-1553.

Please read the enclosed pledge form and if possible, fill it out today with the largest SACRIFICIAL GIFT you can. Please prayerfully consider this important need of the Cathedral and return your completed Pledge Form to us quickly. Please don’t hesitate to call me at (202) 333-4730 with any questions – and remember – we are very close to being able to complete the Narthex, but we can only do it if every member does his or her part.

P.S. Please search your heart. Please make your most generous pledge. Those that can do more, should do more. Those that can do less, should do less. Each should give according to his/her ability. This is our Cathedral, and we must complete her narthex, the last jewel in the crown of the Queen Cathedral of Byzantine Orthodoxy in our Nation’s Capital.
